💙 This week (February 23–March 1) is National Eating Disorders Awareness Week 💙
Hosted by the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), this year's theme is Every BODY Belongs.
It’s a reminder that healing, hope, and recovery are for EVERYONE, no matter your age, size, race, gender, background, or story. Eating disorders don’t discriminate, and neither should our support.
Did you know?
- Eating disorders affect millions of individuals across all ages, sizes, races, genders, and backgrounds.
- They are serious mental health conditions – NOT choices, phases, or lifestyles.
- Too often, stigma, misinformation, and barriers keep people from getting help.
But change starts when we speak up, listen, and show compassion.
Everybody deserves care. Everybody belongs… in recovery, in community, in life.
🌍 Happy World Pulses Day 2026! 🌱💚 February 10th, 2026
Today we celebrate the humble heroes of our plates: lentils, chickpeas, cowpeas, green gram, peas, and more! These tiny powerhouses pack protein, fiber, iron, and folate – all while being kind to the planet by fixing nitrogen in the soil, saving water, and fighting climate change.
This year’s World Pulses Day celebrates the theme: “Pulses of the World: From Modesty to Excellence” – turning everyday staples into global superfoods for healthier diets and a sustainable future.
So don’t forget to add some pulses to your diet today. The Sri Lankan Dietary Guidelines recommend 3-5 servings of pulses per day (one serving size equals ½ cup or 3 tablespoons).
